INGREDIENTS

For the Payasam

  • 8 Date Crown Khenaizi Dates, chopped
  • 80g vermicelli
  • 1 L milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 5 cardamom pods, crushed
  • 1 pinch saffron threads
  • 1 pinch of salt

For decoration

  • 4 tablespoons Date Crown Date Syrup
  • 4 Date Crown Khenaizi Dates, chopped
  • Saffron thread
  • Pistachios

Instructions

  1. 1. Place a pot over medium heat. Add the milk, saffron and crushed cardamom pods, then bring the mixture to a boil.
  2. 2. In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the vermicelli and fry for 3 to 5 minutes while stirring until the vermicelli is golden brown.
  3. 3. Add the vermicelli to the pot with the milk mixture. Add a pinch of salt, and the chopped Date Crown Khenaizi Dates, then cook for 15 minutes while occasionally stirring until the vermicelli is cooked through.
  4. 4. Divide the payasam among the serving bowls. Top with Date Crown Date Syrup, pistachios, saffron threads, and chopped Date Crown Khenaizi Dates, then serve.
